Teaching at the Texas Yoga Retreat in October

Happy summer! I hope you are finding ease and joy this season.

Today is 9 Kan in the sacred Mayan calendar, a day that calls us to awaken the divine feminine wisdom within, honor the cycles of life, channel our creative energy with compassion, and see through illusion into the unity of all creation (no big deal).

My Exciting News

This October marks the 26th annual Texas Yoga Retreat in Austin, and for the first time ever, I will be teaching there!

I attended the inaugural Texas Yoga Retreat back in November 2000 and have returned several times since. Back when it was just beginning, I volunteered to help with marketing, ambitious advertising undergrad that I was. I’ve enjoyed attending several times over the years and taking part in workshops led by talented teachers across many lineages and styles of yoga. Teaching there this year will be a special full circle moment, 26 years in the making.

The Setting

The moment you step onto the grounds at Radha Madhav Dham Ashram in southwest Austin, you can feel the peaceful and loving energy there. Built in 1990, the ashram sits on 230 acres of rolling hills, with peacocks milling about, lush gardens, walking trails, and the Ancient Yoga Center, a section of the property built specifically for retreats. It is a delightful sanctuary to restore body, mind, and spirit.

The inaugural Texas Yoga Retreat in November 2000 was the first time the ashram had ever invited an outside group to hold an event on the property. Year after year since, it has been a wonderful spiritual home.
