11 E’ — September 11, 2026
In the sacred Mayan calendar, 11 E’ has come back around. E’ is the nawal of the road, the pilgrim, the unfolding path. Under the number 11, that road moves in all directions at once, nonlinear and restless, full of detours.
That’s where I am today: everything, everywhere, all at once. (Just like the title of the fantastic sci-fi movie I finally watched last night.)
Ideas, thoughts, and energies are moving through me faster than I can catch them. It’s an exciting yet overwhelming burst. Too many open threads, none of them woven yet.
And underneath that is a subtler message: I need to re-prioritize my own writing practice. Starting with journaling, meaning showing up on the page without an agenda. And then, before too long, moving back into the memoir I’ve been circling for months. Years, actually.
My body has been telling me this loudly. I twisted my ankle and fell on the road near my house for no apparent reason. The fall cut a gash into my left palm (my writing hand) that is still slowly healing nine days later. And there have been the subtler messages too: neck aches, shoulder and hip tightness, a low background hum urging me to focus, turn inward, and let the words that have been dammed up flow forth.
I had a massage and Reiki session this afternoon that was super powerful and moved a lot of subtle energy. I’m going to have two more sessions with the same practitioner in the coming week, so in a sense, I’ve entered a portal of clarity and healing through the bodywork, energy work and journaling I’ll be doing.
None of it feels random on this sacred day of movement and multi-directional energy. It seems clear that the falling and the wounds were the path’s way of saying: stop wandering everywhere, and walk back to your desk. Back to the page.
So the page first. The memoir will come when it comes. I feel gratitude for the reminder, however painfully it arrived.
