Stay Sweet: Ajmak Trecena Journal Entries

“Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” ~Mark Twain

Every day, every moment provides an opportunity to cultivate love and practice forgiveness and gratitude.

The next two weeks are particularly conducive to these practices, as Ajmak represents our connection with spirit, wisdom, forgiveness and intuition.

This nawal brings the energy of sweetness, rejuvenation, and renewal. Ajmak is also associated with ancestral wisdom, a.k.a. remembering. The spirit animals of this nawal are the vulture and the bee.

Yogic Practices for the Ajmak Trecena and Ajmak Days

Asana

o   Child’s pose

o   Seated backbends, half camel, camel pose

o   Seated and reclining spinal twists

o   Triangle pose

o   Warrior I and II and the humble warrior variation

Pranayama

o   Full yogic breath (three-part deep breathing into/out of the belly, rib cage and upper chest)

o   Straw breath (deep inhale through a small circle created with the lips, exhale through the nose)

o   Sighing (deep inhale through the nose, letting go with a relaxing exhale through the mouth)

o   Breathe in forgiveness; breathe out, letting go of guilt, shame, and blame

Meditation

Repeat this simple Hawaiian prayer of forgiveness (Ho'oponopono) to connect with the energies of Ajmak:
I’m sorry         Please forgive me        I love you        Thank you

Repeat these phrases to yourself out loud or silently in meditation as many times as you wish. Direct it toward both yourself and specific people. Observe the situations, thoughts and feelings that arise as you do this. It is a powerful clearing mantra to activate and balance the energies of Ajmak.
