10 No’j – Community Meditation

In the sacred Mayan calendar, 10 No’j carries the energy of embodied intelligence, ethical thinking, and wisdom made practical. No’j is the nawal of mind, thought, learning, memory, and knowledge. It governs how we reason, reflect, plan, and make meaning of our experiences. The number 10 brings manifestation and completion in the material world, asking us to ground ideas into lived reality. 10 No’j is a powerful day for decision making, studying, teaching, writing, problem solving, and aligning your mental life with your values.

10 No’j invites you to slow the mind just enough to hear what it is actually saying. Not every thought needs to be followed. Not every question needs an immediate answer. Today is about respectful relationship with your intelligence—using the mind as a tool rather than letting it run the show.

Let thinking be spacious.
Let learning be embodied.
Let wisdom take shape through action.

Maltiox, Nawal No’j.

Find a comfortable seat that allows your body to feel supported and at ease.
Let your spine be tall but not rigid.
Let your hands rest where they fall naturally.
Gently close your eyes.

Begin by noticing your breath.
Feel the inhale as it arrives
and the exhale as it leaves.

Take a slow, steady breath in through the nose.
And release a sigh through the mouth.
Feel yourself breathing in and breathing out.

10 No’j reminds us that the mind is a powerful instrument.

As you sit, thoughts will arise.
Plans, memories, questions, judgments.
When you notice a thought, silently name it: thinking.
Acknowledge.
Feel.
Soften.

Return to the breath.

Feelings will surface: pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral.
When a feeling arises, offer it the same gentle attention.
Acknowledge.
Feel.
Soften.

Return to the breath.

Sensations come and go: warmth, coolness, pulsing, pressure, ease.
Meet each sensation with curiosity.
Acknowledge.
Feel.
Soften.

There is nothing to fix.
Nothing to solve.
Nothing to improve in this moment.

No’j teaches that wisdom emerges from presence infused with loving kindness and gratitude.

Silently say:
May I be kind with myself.
May I be gentle.
May I act with care.

Allow gratitude to arise as a felt sense.
Gratitude for breath.
For awareness.
For being alive in this moment.

If the mind wanders, that’s okay.
Each return is an act of wisdom.

Acknowledge.
Feel.
Soften.

Rest here for a few more breaths, letting kindness and gratitude become the natural posture of the mind.

When you are ready, deepen your breath.
Feel the body. Slowly open your eyes.

Carry this quality of mindful kindness with you.
This is No’j in its highest expression:
a mind that serves life with wisdom, humility, gratitude, and care.

Maltiox, Nawal No’j.
