11 E’ – The Path of Wandering in Wonder

In the sacred Mayan calendar, 11 E’ carries the energy of movement, choice, and travel, amplified by the unpredictable, multi-directional force of the number 11. E’ is the nawal of the road, the pilgrim, and the unfolding journey. It is both the physical road and the spiritual path. Under 11, the path may feel nonlinear, surprising, or even chaotic at times, yet this looseness and creativity allows new routes to appear. Today reminds us that not all progress is orderly; breakthroughs instead arrive through detours, pauses, and spontaneous shifts. 11 E’ invites trust in the movement and rhythm of our feet and our life, even when the destination is unclear.

Dear Nawal E’,

Thank you for my feet, my steps, my path, and my travels.

Thank you for the roads that have carried me across the United States and into many other lands, including Mexico, Canada, England, India, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador, among others. Each place has shaped me. Each journey has taught me more about who I am and how I move through the world.

I thank you for guiding me and protecting me along the way: on highways and dirt roads, in airports and border crossings, in moments of certainty and moments of deep not-knowing. What do you want to show me next? I am open and willing to follow the road less traveled.

As a family, we dream of going to Spain and Italy next summer. I have long felt the pull of Japan and Thailand as well, and I sense those paths may open within the next few years. I trust that when the time is right, the road will reveal itself.

Maltiox for my spiritual path too, dear Nawal E’. I honestly don’t know where I would be without the steady presence of personal practice in my life. Thanks be to yoga, to breath, and to meditation—for meeting me wherever I am and reminding me how to walk with awareness.

With gratitude and trust,
Mish
