7 No’j – Overwhelming Knowledge or Empowered Wisdom?

Today, 7 No’j invites us to climb to the summit and gain perspective on the knowledge we carry, discern which thoughts and information serve us, and recognize that wisdom is not about accumulating more knowledge but understanding what truly matters.

Essential Questions

  • What knowledge am I carrying that no longer serves me?
  • How can I distinguish between information overload and true wisdom?
  • What perspective do I gain when I step back from the constant stream of ideas and thoughts?

Where is my mind? No’j is the nawal of the mind, the intellect, and the earthquake. Seven is the number of high perspective, death, and endings. The year of my birth was 7 No’j in the Sacred Calendar. I arrived with a brain that would be both my brightest gift and my heaviest burden.

Mind power. Mind games. I love learning, reading, absorbing information, and collecting knowledge. Yet, the endless research and investigation can be exhausting and overwhelming at times, making me want to shut down, bury my head in the sand, and disappear.

7 No’j also represents empowering wisdom. I have felt most empowered by the wisdom I’ve gained through the practice of yoga and meditation. Moving beyond theory into the body, the daily grind, the moment-to-moment experience of life as it happens. And more recently, through following the energy of each day in the sacred Mayan calendar and how it feels in my body, mind, and heart. In my steps, energy, creativity, and choices.

At this summit, I realize knowledge without embodiment is mere noise. Wisdom is what happens when the mind comes home to the body and we live what we know with integrity, kindness, and gratitude.

Maltiox, Nawal No’j.
