6 Ajmaq — Acceptance of Reality’s Bitterness & Sweetness

Today, 6 Ajmaq invites us to find stability and integration through acceptance and forgiveness, to embrace both the sweetness and the bitterness of the human condition, and to recognize that when we stop resisting reality and forgive ourselves and others, we create space for peace and wholeness.

Essential questions

What do I need to forgive myself for?

What reality have I been resisting, and what would it mean to accept it?

How can I hold both the bitterness and sweetness of life with equal compassion?

I am a product of my conditioning. Family, education, religion, socioeconomic class, race, ethnicity, culture, time, era, experiences. As much as I have liberated myself from many of the things I was taught that never rang true, this conditioning has been baked into my being since before my birth.

And yet, I can change. I can choose where to focus my attention and energy. I can choose when to work and when to rest, when to put my nose to the grindstone and when to let loose and celebrate.

No matter how evolved I become, I will still make mistakes. This is the human condition.

6 Ajmaq teaches that stability comes not from perfection but from acceptance. When I stop resisting my own humanity and the humanity of others, forgive mistakes and missteps, and hold both bitterness and sweetness with equal compassion, I find integration, peace, and love.

Maltiox, Nawal Ajmaq.
