Gratitude for perspective
for the expansive view from the mountaintop
where silence speaks through the breeze
and inner secrets and truths are heard
Toj is the fire that purifies
the water that cleanses
the sacred act of giving in service that restores harmony to the heart
Seven is rest, reflection, endings, the still point where spirit and matter meet
Here we pause and notice
how every offering is received
how the breath is always there to be breathed
What a miracle!
Today, give thanks for what has been given and what has been taken away
Serve not for reward only from the fullness of love
Offer to the fire your fears and fatigue
Offer to the water your longing, sweat and tears
Let the smoke rise to the spirits of the sky
Let the current carry your prayers to the memory of the water
Listen deeply
Pause often
The mountain teaches balance
To rise, we must root
To receive, we must release
Through service, we remember the sacred exchange
All we give returns in mysterious ways
Every act of gratitude feeds the light of the world
