Surrender the illusion of control.

I found this scrawled on a piece of notebook paper today as I was cleaning out my filing cabinet. Always a good reminder:

We can assist them, pray for them, and wish them well, yet in the end, their happiness and suffering depend on their thoughts and actions, not on our wishes."- Jack Kornfield, American Buddhist Teacher

Yes, we have free will. We choose how to direct our lives, when to act act, which words we speak. At the same time, the billions of people on Earth and their infinite karma and the incomprehensible web that weaves us all together makes "control" a total delusion. Here's to enjoying reality!
