Today, 1 K’at invites us to start weaving a new web of connection, kindle the fire of passion and community, and recognize that we are weavers of interdependence. Each thread matters; each connection strengthens the whole.
Essential Questions
- What new web or community am I being called to weave?
- How can I approach connection with both passion and integrity?
- What threads am I ready to gather and bundle together?
K’at Trecena Overview
The K’at trecena is a 13-day journey through weaving, connection, passion, and the sacred fire of community. K’at is the spider, the weaver, and the connector reminding us that all things are interdependent and woven together in a vast web of relationship. This energy invites us to gather people, ideas, and resources; kindle passion through collaborative work; and recognize both the abundance that comes through connection and the entanglement we need to cut away. These 13 days ask:
- What are you weaving?
- What fire are you tending?
- What web holds you, and what threads need to be released?
K’at teaches that true strength comes not from isolation, but from the courage to connect, cooperate, and collaborate with others.
This is my last trecena of the 20. I’ve been writing daily since October 11 of last year, going through all 260 days of the sacred calendar. Now just 13 days remain.
My intention is to complete this final trecena while simultaneously reviving my focus on my memoir manuscript, which has fallen by the wayside.
It’s not always been easy to write these daily posts. Often I have faced inertia, resistance, apathy, or a lack of inspiration. I’ve done it anyway, every day. 247 days, and counting. (Okay, except my birthday, a couple of weeks ago, when I forgot! I did that post a day late.)
Memoir writing is even more challenging. I often want to avoid it or make excuses to myself about why it could and should wait. But tomorrow never comes.
With the energy of the K’at trecena, I intend to reignite my passion for this project. To weave my web of creative writing practice in new and innovative ways. To flow with what I feel enthusiastic about writing and not necessarily having to go in chronological order or follow a rigid structure. To find what works best for me, here and now. And to do this while maintaining my cherished connections to family and friends and the greater web of life and magic that invisibly support me always.
Maltiox, Nawal K’at.
