10 Ajpu – All Life is Sacred

Today, 10 Ajpu invites us to recognize the divinity within all beings, honor the sacred spark in every person and every moment, and gather together in shared reverence for the holiness that permeates all of life.

Essential Questions

  • Where do I see the divine in everyday life?
  • How can I honor the sacred in others, especially in those I find challenging?
  • What shifts when I approach each encounter as a sacred meeting?

How do we transform each moment of life into a ritual or ceremony? How do we convert life into art?

The tendency exists to crawl back into bed, to fall back asleep, to hide inside a book or worse: the endless scroll. The tendency exists to consume art rather than make it. Consumption without reflection is an issue.

Active engagement is the key. Actively engage with the painting, literature, film, play, or dance. Make your life into your work of art.

How? By how we walk, move, write, draw, converse, listen, see, look, touch, taste, smell, hear, and sense. The things we surround ourselves with. The mess and the order. The colors we wear. Our style, our meditation, our social connections, our friendships, our civilities. All of it is a miracle.

Life is a gift. Remember to stay aware and say thanks.

10 Ajpu teaches that every moment is an opportunity to honor the sacred, gather ourselves and our community in gratitude, and recognize that the most profound art is the life we live when we are fully present for the journey.

Maltiox, Nawal Ajpu.
