13 B’atz invites us to
- connect the threads of time with the wisdom of the ancestors
- get inspired by the arts and create beauty
- celebrate the completion of the Kawoq trecena journey through rainstorms, birth, and the fierce feminine energy that brings new life into being
The cosmic joke is the realization that what we’ve been seeking is also seeking us. We are already whole, home, and the thing we’ve been seeking.
Breaking through the illusion of separation enables us to experience the joy of reunion.
The more joyless effort we put into trying to get to some special level of achievement or destination, the more we miss that we’re already here.
Our suffering comes from forgetting we’re already free. Death, the thing most people fear most, is simply another beginning. Death’s other names are nonbeing and transformation.
The cosmic joke is that Life went through all this trouble to forget itself so it could experience the surprise and delight of remembering. We are infinite consciousness playing hide and seek with itself, pretending to be lost so we can experience being found.
And when you finally get it, all you can do is laugh.
Suddenly, there is nothing to do.
Just by being we are doing enough.
This is not your sign to lie in bed all day.
It is a reminder to pause.
To slow down.
To work through the challenges of your shadows.
To bring awareness to your blind spots.
To accept the gift of your unique creativity.
To embrace the highest expression, bloom into your fullest blossom, and claim your transcendent essence.
To throw your head back and laugh at time, at space, at the cosmos, at yourself, with yourself.
