7 Kame — Transformation on the High Road

Kame is the nawal of death and transformation—the most profound portal of change, the sacred threshold between what was and what will be. This energy honors the ancestors, the lineages of wisdom and wound that live in our blood and bones and shape the people we are becoming.

The number 7 brings us to the top of the pyramid, a place of elevated perspective, rest, and 360-degree vision empowering us to see all the paths laid out before us. Today, on 7 Kame, we honor what has died, receive guidance from those who came before, and make choices about which cycle to complete and which threshold to cross.

A decade-long friendship died last year. I now love and honor my friend from afar. I am grateful for all she taught me and all the laughter and tears we shared.

My choice not to communicate or visit became clear over time until it was so blatant that it was the only path I could or would take. I let go with gratitude.

From the top of the pyramid—this place of rest and 360-degree vision that the number 7 offers—I can see the whole arc of the friendship. The beginning, the middle, the slow unraveling, the sudden end.

I can see it without needing to make it wrong. Without needing to blame her or myself. Without needing to pretend it didn’t hurt or that it wasn’t real or that it doesn’t matter.
It mattered. It still matters. And it is complete.
