2 Q’anil – Choose which Seeds to Plant

Q’anil is the nawal of the seed, the harvest, and the ripening of all things. It translates to “yellowing” and represents ripening, fertility, abundance, growth, and the understanding that what we sow determines what we will reap. Q’anil is the golden corn, Earth’s generosity, and the cycles of planting and reaping that sustain all. It reminds us that abundance is something we cultivate through patience, care, and alignment with natural rhythms.

The number 2 brings duality, relationship, polarity, and the recognition that creation requires two forces coming together—sun and rain, masculine and feminine, give and take, effort and surrender. 2 Q’anil is a day to plant seeds, honor the relationships and partnerships that help things grow, and give gratitude for the abundance that surrounds us. On 2 Q’anil, what you tend with love will flourish. Choose your seeds wisely, water them consistently, and trust that the harvest will come.

What seeds am I planting today?

I am planting the seeds of vitality. Energy that radiates from within and is naturally abundant. I want to wake up ready to meet the day. I want to feel my body as a source of power.

I am planting willpower and discipline that shows up day after day because it knows the harvest is worth the tending.

I am planting joy, in the middle of the mess, in the beautiful, challenging, and ordinary moments of being alive.

I am planting present moment awareness. The practice of being here, fully here, instead of half-living while my mind races ahead to tomorrow or loops back to yesterday. This is the hardest seed to tend; it is also the one that yields the sweetest fruit.

I am planting movement toward the dream of world travel with my daughter. Adventures that will shape her, widen her, teach her that the world is endlessly worth exploring.

I am calling in more of the work I love and feel passionate about. The teaching, the writing, the guiding, the holding of sacred space. The work that doesn’t feel like work because it aligns with who I am at the core.

I am inviting clearer, more honest, and open communication with my partner. The number 2 is about relationship, about the two forces that must come together to create anything real. Real communication that doesn’t hide or perform or deflect is the foundation of everything.

I am seeking beauty, vision, and peace. I am grateful for the abundance of love flowering all around me, all the time.

And I cherish even the difficulties and challenges that serve as teachers and catalysts for growth. Q’anil is not just the easy harvest, it is the whole cycle. The planting, tending, waiting, and reaping.

Maltiox, Nawal Q’anil. Thank you for the seeds. Thank you for the soil. Thank you for reminding me that I am part of the harvest too.
