Today, 12 Iq’ invites us to celebrate our creative journey, bundle together all the stories, ideas, and imaginative work we’ve woven, and recognize that our communication and creative expression are gifts worth honoring.
Today I took a drawing class. My friend and neighbor invited me. We crossed the tranquil lake to Casa Lobo, the wolf house. Little did I know my friend has a college degree in Fine Arts. I took art in high school but that was nearly 30 years ago. I had never done figure drawing.
Instead of drawing the nude headless male statue, I drew a rose. This got me out of my comfort zone and it was fun. I found the shading quite meditative.
This is 12 Iq’ in action: bundling together years of creative dormancy and awakening it again, discovering that imagination doesn’t rust—it only waits. The breath of creativity moves through us whether we’ve been drawing for decades or picking up a pencil for the first time in thirty years.
