1 Tz’ikin – New Vision

In the sacred Mayan calendar, 1 Tz’ikin marks a fresh beginning infused with vision, possibility, and spiritual perspective. Tz’ikin is the nawal of the bird (and specifically the eagle). It’s associated with prosperity, happiness, and the ability to see both the details and the vast horizon. It governs abundance in all its forms: material, creative, and spiritual. The number 1 brings initiation and intention, planting a seed for a new cycle of seeing and understanding. Today, 1 Tz’ikin invites us to begin again by trusting our vision and aligning our actions with a higher vantage point.

1 Tz’ikin is my future and elder sign in my Mayan cross—the energy I am growing into in midlife. It began stirring in my early forties and will reach full expression at age 52.

How do I relax into my destiny?
How do I remember to remember?
How do I stay connected to the sacred nature of each day?

Tz’ikin teaches me that vision matures with time. Wisdom doesn’t rush. Clarity comes from perspective. New lenses, old wisdom. Coincidentally (or not), I received my new pair of eyeglasses today. The eagle does not flap frantically; it rides the currents already present.

Jun (1) Tz’ikin—my elder and destiny sign— the eagle’s eye that sees beyond fear into blessing, possibility, and grace.

This is the energy of seeing my life as a whole: the winding path, the seeming detours, the moments of doubt and abundance alike. It invites me to lift my gaze from the immediate drama and trust the long arc of becoming. To notice patterns instead of problems. To choose gratitude as a form of vision. Today brings clearer sight, inside and out, if I am willing to actually look.

May I trust the wide view and let vision lead the way.
May I honor the wisdom that comes with age, experience, and perspective.
May I remember that prosperity begins in perception.

Maltiox, Nawal Tz’ikin.
Gracias por el aire, la tierra, el fuego y el agua.
Gracias por mi vida.
Gracias por mi existencia.
Gracias por mis ojos.
Gracias por mi visión.
